The Streetballer Documentary
A 10-part documentary series chronicling the life and career of Tom "Conman" Connors has been in production for several years and is currently being filmed. The series is scheduled for release on Amazon. Please see the documentary synopsis below.

Born in one of the UK’s toughest cities, Tom Connors’s life was a battle from the very beginning. Poverty, violence, and instability defined his childhood—he moved 31 times before the age of 15, often living on the streets for stretches of time. His foundation was fractured, shaped by a chaotic upbringing with ten different parental figures. Struggling with dyslexia and other learning difficulties only compounded the challenges he faced at school, leaving him feeling isolated and misunderstood. As he grew older, the pressures and chaos led him into struggles with drink and drugs, threatening to consume him entirely. At such a young age, there came a moment when despair reached its peak—standing alone on a bridge, he felt ready to end it all. Yet, in that darkest hour, the one constant in his life—basketball—pulled him back from the edge. It became more than a game; it became his salvation, his language, and the only path that promised freedom, purpose and a better life ahead. Through the courts, he discovered a sense of control, a place where his talent and determination could speak louder than his circumstances, and where he could begin to imagine a life beyond the chaos.
Driven by relentless determination, Tom rose to become the best player in his school, then the standout star of his county, eventually becoming the leading scorer in the entire country. Yet in a nation where basketball was an afterthought, his flamboyant, unstoppable style clashed with traditional institutions. Refusing to be silenced, he turned to the raw, underground world of streetball. Here, his electrifying talent found a home. He dominated courts across the UK and Europe, creating awe-inspiring moments and a legacy of record-breaking achievements. Tom didn’t just play the game—he rewrote it. He holds more basketball world records than anyone in history, became the most viewed streetball player ever, the face of UK basketball, and a pivotal figure not just in British hoops but on the global stage. With celebrity status starring in over 100 TV and online shows, sold out his own stage show tour, earning the title of UK & European champion and multiple Guinness World Record holder.
But success was fragile. Every triumph was met with a crushing setback. Each moment of glory brought new challenges. Friends and fellow players betrayed him, deals fell through, and loyalty was often a scarce commodity. The relentless pressure, criticism, and missed opportunities took their toll. True to his nature, Tom fought back harder each time, pushing mind and body beyond limits, chasing a life that always seemed just out of reach.
Then his body gave up. Years of sacrifice, stress, and relentless pursuit of greatness culminated in a devastating, incurable illness—a thief of energy, movement, and life itself. The champion who defied gravity was now a prisoner in his own body. The roaring crowds, the sound and light, the exhilaration of the court were replaced by the four walls of a silent room. The illness didn’t just destroy his career—it dismantled his world, his dream of a better life, leaving him isolated, broken, and struggling to embrace his role as a new father and husband. On the edge of despair, he faced a question that threatened to consume him: Who is he without the fame, without the fights, without the game? The fire that once defined him seemed buried under the suffocating weight of his condition. A comeback felt not just unlikely, but impossible.
Yet this was a different kind of fight. It wasn’t about opponents or victories—it was about finding that fire again, deep within, and channeling it into the painstaking daily battle to heal. To understand, forgive, let go, and rediscover his true self beneath the ego and the fame.
Against all odds, fueled by the desire to reclaim his life and family, Tom embarked on an extraordinary journey to rewrite his fate. He discovered that the same relentless drive that once powered a champion athlete could now fuel something even more profound—a single deep breath, a moment of clarity, a step toward reclaiming his life.
This documentary series, “The Streetballer – Never Give Up,” tells that story. Filmed over nine years in real time, it is a raw, unfiltered chronicle of resilience, redemption, and the ultimate fight beyond the finish line. More than a sports comeback, it is a powerful exploration of greatness, the human spirit, and the courage to rebuild a life from the shadows. This is the final chapter of a legendary fight. Will Tom find the fire to finish his story and finally secure the life he has been chasing? The answer awaits in this inspiring journey.
